I guess you can consider us as photography gear whores. We love camera gear! We love it even more when entrepreneurs and small start up companies bring new photography items to the market. Sure, we have big name photography companies that make great accessories but sometimes, its photography/videography enthusiasts that come up with the greatest products without hurting our wallet. Jeremy Canterbury, designed and built the Revolve camera dolly which offers a low-cost, modular alternative to more conventional camera equipment.
To get this project started, Jeremy needs funding and this is where you and Kickstarter step in. If you haven't heard of Kickstarter, you'll be hearing about more often. Kickstarter allows entrepreneurs and inventors show off their products for everyone to see. If you like the product, you simply "pledge" funds. Depending on you pledge, you usually get the item at a discounted price. Once the goal is met at the end of the campaign, it goes into production and once its finished, its sent out to those who pledged. The Revolve dolly is $70 and will go into production after the funding period ends on May 6th, 2012. It's also compatible with a wide range of add-on accessories (including a ball mount, monopod, friction arm, and an inexpensive rail kit) that can be added to your pledge ranging between $20-$40.

The Revolve camera dolly is a platform for capturing smooth and dynamic video footage. This system can create a wide variety of tracking shots and rotational dolly shots as well as dynamic time lapse and stop motion photography. It is compatible with virtually any camera, and is suitable for use on all surfaces and at any location.
The revolve dolly was born out of the desire for useful camera accessories at an affordable price. Lots of thought went into the design of the dolly, and after a year of development it is ready for production.
The adjustable axles of the dolly allow it to travel in a straight line, or in a curved line or rotational arc of any angle. Each axle is threaded with two 1/4" -20 holes, which provide mounting points for additional camera accessories, and also allow the dolly to travel on rails (with the optional rail kit).
The dolly is precision machined from aerospace grade aluminum, which provides a strong platform that can handle rigs of any weight without a problem. It is anodized in black to protect the parts against wear and corrosion.
The Revolve logo is laser engraved onto the chassis, along with a set of ruler markings which make proper alignment of the adjustable axles quick and easy. The soft wheels give the dolly a smooth ride, and the quality ball bearings give it an effortless glide.
