Indiegogo: FlashQ Q20 A Handy Flash Reinvented

We first mentioned about FlashQ a year ago about their crowdfunding project on Indiegogo, the FlashQ Wireless Flash Trigger. You can read our review on the wireless trigger.

FlashQ is back with a new product on Indiegogo (http://igg.me/at/q20), the FlashQ Q20. It is a flash with radio control, LED lighting, tilting flash head and built-in gel holder.

The flash unit starts at $50 for early birds and $65 for the complete kit which includes the transmitter. The Indiegogo campaign ends April 17th and if it meets its goal of $60,000, the Q20 should be delivered sometime November 2015.

A full featured GN20 flash with radio control, LED lighting, flash head tilting, built-in gel holder

Meet our newest family member!
Following the successfully launched FlashQ wireless flash trigger in 2014. We’re going to take it to the next level, a complete wireless flash unit, called FlashQ System. We hereby introduce our first flash project, FlashQ Q20.

We were inspired by a variety of classic flashes and extracted those essential elements that are desired by the photographers. Combined with the 90° adjustable tilting flash head, built-in gel holder, LED video/modeling light, and engineered with our wireless technology for off-camera flash control, Q20 will give you the most convenient experience in a flash unit. Furthermore we crafted it to be a beautiful piece with compact size, makes it a must-have accessory for every Prosumer or Compact System Cameras.

Off-camera Flash Any Time
Our first idea was something similar to the renowned Metz SCA System; flash main body can be detached from the hot shoe adapter. So, we made FlashQ transmitter function like an adapter! Q20 is just like a typical external flash while being plugged on FlashQ transmitter, and it goes into wireless mode while being detached from the transmitter. There will be more creative possibilities in shooting when off-camera flash gives easy and total control in lighting.

Remote Control Flash Power Ratio
FlashQ transmitter can adjust the flash power ratio on Q20 main body, also wirelessly. A Single-click of the Power button makes one step increment, while a Double-click makes one step decrement. This feature is already coded in every shipped FlashQ transmitter.

Manual Flash Power Control
Q20 puts control back into the photographer, as it allows you set the flash output at each stop from 1/128 (minimum output) to 1/1 (maximum output). 7 steps of flash power ratios can be adjusted by two buttons.

Tiltable Flash Head
For ease of setup bouncing light effects, Q20 flash head can tilt up to 90°, with click-stops at 0°, 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°.

Built-in Color Gel / Filter Holder
Q20 flash head has a built-in gel holder for more versatile shooting options. It facilitates quick installation and removal of colored gels, so you change the light color at any time you want.

LED Video / Modeling Light
LED lighting plays an emerging role in digital photography for close-ups, modeling light or filming. Q20 features an LED light suited for these tasks with 7 output levels, makes it perfect for still or video shootings.

Rectangular Shaped, Able to Stand
Q20 has a rectangular outline with flat sides, which makes it easy to stand or position itself in any orientation. It is especially useful in setting up off-camera lighting.

With Tripod Mount
Furthermore, a built-in female 1/4” receptacle is included, which allows it to be attached on a tripod.

Multiple Flashes Support
Q20 equips with the same FlashQ radio, which features Automatic Clear Channel Selection and Simple Pair-up.

FlashQ System can support up to 8 flashes (Q20 main bodies) simultaneously, provided that those flashes had been paired up with the FlashQ transmitter. This gives the scalability of multiple wireless flashes and makes your photography more creative.
