Quality/Usability : Before I got the Custom SLR M-Plate Pro which offsets the placement of where the strap is mounted, I had the Manfrotto RC2 with BlackRapid FastenR-T1. If I needed to mount the camera to the tripod, I would just detach the carabiner and place the camera into the ball head. Now that I switched over to an Arca-Swiss setup, I wouldn't have that luxury if I was using a basic Arca-Swiss quick release plate.

To help those who is using Arca-Swiss compatible ball head and want to use a sling strap setup, Hejnar Photo makes a Arca-Swiss quick release clamp that can help solve this problem. Included with the quick release clamp is a screw (if attaching to a ball head) and a hex tool.

The clamp reviewed is 1.5 inches wide. Hejnar Photo also sells clamps that is as thin as 1.0 inch wide, 2.375 inch and up to 3.25 inch. If using the clamp for a sling strap setup, the 1.5 inch or 2.375 inch setup would be fine. You don't want anything too small or too big where it gets in your way.

The front has ruler markings if you need to have precise measurements if needed and the middle has a 3/8-16 threaded countersunk hole. The back also has a groove that fits some ball heads to prevent it from twisting.

The black knob short and close to the clamp so it doesn't get in the way.

You will need to purchase a stainless steel reducer bushing (B&H Photo / Adorama) with flange. This bushing reduces a 3/8-16 thread size to a 1/4-20 thread size. This is required for the sling strap setup.

Place the bushing and screw it into the countersunk hole. Since its countersunk, the bushing would be flushing with the clamp. You'll need a screwdriver to help tighten the bushing in place.

Once the bushing is securely in place, you'll take your BlackRapid FastenR, Custom SLR C-Loop, pin (above pin is used for Carry Speed straps and Spider Holster) or any other mounting solution and screw it from the back of the plate. If there is a rubber washer, it will need to be removed since this won't allow the threading on the screw to reach the bushing.

The picture on the left shows the pin attached to the clamp and dangling from the sling strap. The image on the right shows a Canon EOS 5D Mark III with BG-E11 grip and Canon 24-70mm f2.8L II attached to the clamp. So when I need to mount my camera onto a tripod, I just loosen the knob a few turns and the camera will come loose. This allows for quick release and quick mounting to the ball head.

Conclusion : Overall, the Hejnar Photo Arca-Swiss Quick Release Clamp - Sling Strap is the best solution available if you're an Arca-Swiss user looking for a sling strap solution. The clamp comes in multiple sizes as small as 1.0 inch wide up to 3.25 inches wide. The 1.5 inches is ideal to be used with the sling as its not too big and not too small. The 2.375 inches is also suitable.

If your sling strap mount has a rubber washer, it will need to be removed in order for it to be able to screw into the bushing.
