Quality/Usability : If you use or plan on using a flash bracket, it's best to purchase a flash cord. However, OEM accessories usually tend to be a bit expensive. Certain 3rd party manufacturers are reputable and make OEM quality products and Pixel is one of them.

PIXEL's Flashgun Cable's are about 1/3 the price of the OEM cables but how well do they work and how is the quality?

The quality of the cable is very sturdy and well constructed. On one end of the cable, the top has PIXEL's logo and cable model number printed. The underside has a metal plate that slides into the hotshoe of your camera. The other end of the cable connects either to a flash stand or mount such as a flash bracket and a slot for you to slide your flash into place.

The images above show the flash connected to the hotshoe on the cord and on the camera. Both slide in smoothly and perfectly. To lock the flash into the hotshoe of the cord, you will use the locking mechanism on the flash itself as if you were to lock it in place on the camera. For the camera, the PIXEL flashgun cable uses a knob locking mechanism. Simply turn clockwise to lock it in place and counter-clockwise to loosen. At time, it would be a little hard to loosen as it didn't provide enough grip.

The image below is how it is connected to the camera and flash bracket. I opted for a shorter cable so it did not get in the way. Depending on your situation, you may need a longer cable but if you're using it on a flash bracket or near each other, the shorter length would be enough. And since its a coiled cord, it can stretch.

With a flash mounted on the cable, the flash was sturdy and did not wobble. I've seen some cheap aftermarket cables caused the flash to wobble even when its been locked in place. Since it wobbled, it would cause the flash to go off prematurely since it constantly touched the contacts causing a short. I had none of these problems with the PIXEL.

Conclusion : Overall, the PIXEL Flashgun Cable for Nikon Canon Sony DSLR Camera worked great. PIXEL makes quality products. It comes in two different lengths; 1.8M and 3.6M. There was no wobble with the flash when mounted onto the hotshoe of the cable. The price is very affordable unlike the OEM brand. Since I don't use flash brackets often, no need to spend $60+ on cable.
